1. Overview
Manex Brain for SharePoint is a private AI memory tool for documents, conversations, corrections, and team knowledge. This policy explains what information is processed, where it lives, and when it may leave your browser.
Manex is local-first by default. Documents you add to the browser app are processed in your browser where supported. Team sharing, billing, and optional third-party file connections require limited network activity.
2. Local documents and browser memory
When you upload documents, images, folders, or supported files into Manex, the app extracts text, chunks, embeddings, summaries, and memory records in your browser. By default, this local library stays in that browser.
Clearing browser storage, changing browsers, or using another device may remove or separate that local data unless you export/import it or use an active SharePoint workspace.
3. SharePoint brain sharing
If you create or join a SharePoint brain, Manex may sync encrypted memory snapshots, encrypted document indexes, graph updates, tombstones, membership metadata, and audit events through Manex cloud services.
Original uploaded documents are not intended to be synced as raw files through SharePoint brain sharing. The shared workspace is designed around derived context and retrieval indexes rather than a loose shared document pile.
4. Google Drive and OneDrive connections
If you connect Google Drive, Manex asks for the narrower drive.file permission so you can pick or share specific files with Manex before importing them into your browser workspace. Manex does not request permission to browse your entire Google Drive. If you connect Microsoft OneDrive, Manex asks for permission to read the files you choose to import.
- Manex does not edit, delete, or upload files to your Drive or OneDrive.
- Files are downloaded only after you approve import.
- OAuth access is temporary in the browser. Manex does not currently store long-lived refresh tokens for these connectors.
5. Billing and account data
Paid workspaces may use Stripe for checkout, subscription management, invoices, and payment status. Stripe processes payment details under its own privacy policy. Manex receives subscription status and related billing metadata needed to activate or restrict workspace features.
6. Cloud infrastructure
Manex cloud services may use providers such as Cloudflare for API routing, live workspace rooms, encrypted object storage, metadata storage, and background jobs. These systems may process technical logs, request metadata, workspace identifiers, invite codes, subscription status, and encrypted workspace payloads needed to operate the service.
7. Analytics
Manex marketing pages and deployed apps may use privacy-conscious analytics such as Google Analytics to understand visits, product usage, and conversion flows. Browser extensions, privacy settings, and consent tools may block these requests.
8. Data retention
Local browser data remains until you delete it, clear browser storage, or reset the workspace. Cloud workspace metadata and encrypted sync data may be retained while a workspace is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, billing records, abuse prevention, and operational safety.
9. Security
Manex uses HTTPS for network communication and designs shared SharePoint brain payloads around encryption before cloud sync. No system can guarantee perfect security, so avoid importing highly sensitive material unless Manex's current product, security posture, and your own obligations are appropriate for that use.
10. Children
Manex is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as Manex changes. Updated versions will be posted at this page with a revised effective date.
